September 12 Fuzzy BuddyMy mom and I joke that instead of having the typical "L" (LOSER!) on our forehead, we have a "S". S for Sucker. Because when it comes to our kids (that would be me, in my mom's case), we are giant suckers. I completely feel like that "S" is on my forehead right now.
To be helpful, my mom and dad took The Moo Girl to the Evergreen State Fair this past weekend. Midway through the day, I received a call from The Moo Girl. "Mom, can I please get a rabbit? I will help you with your chores," a sweet little voice asks. How could I say no? It was such a sweet voice! I did the only thing that I could do... and had her call her father. Alas, he was just as much of a push-over as me and could not tell her no. She was just so cute!!! He did the only thing that he could do... and left the decision to her grandparents. We were amazed when she came home later that day without a bunny! But, of course that was not the end of the rabbit discussion... The Moo Girl started to make cards and letters to her Grandma and Bahba. The clever little girl didn't bug us until we were crazy; she just made some cute cards asking very nicely if she could have a rabbit. Being bugged to death makes it easy to tell her no, but a cute card? How is a parent to resist?
Ultimately, my mom, T. Dum and I took The Moo Girl to a rabbit breeder to let her pick one. Initially she was overwhelmed with all the rabbits, but she picked one and fell in love. She named her rabbit Fuzzy Buddy and is so excited to have her very own, first pet! Lucky me I now have another life form to care for!
